Sketch Saturday

Here is my card for Sketch Saturday, still trying to fill up my birthday box of cards!
As you will see I have rotated the sketch as it worked best as the image is quite long. Its my favourite Miss Anya (shopping - yeah!) with my favourite papers!!
Papers are Sweet ALways from SU available from me! as is the ribbon, Pumpkin Pie grosgrain and Pretty in Pink taffeta! The sentiment is from a very handy little set called A Bit Of Birthday Cheer!
Anya has been coloured in with my Copic Ciaos (still getting used to them!) and I have used my fave retro flower punch but added some of my new Dew drops!

Here you go - Arty farty angle!
Back tomoz, got a fun day planned tomorrow, one of my lovely downline Elaine is having a Strawberry Cream Tea for Cancer research, oooooo my taste buds are tingling already!

Just Magnolia Sketch

I needed some more general girlie birthday cards in my birthday box so I decided to do the Just Magnolia Sketch challenge.
I went for the Tilda with little cherries on and used my Summer Picnic papers from Stampin UP as I knew they would co-ordinate perfectly.
The image has been coloured with a mixture of Copic Ciaos and Stampin Up marker pens. Now I had to laugh when I made this as when I purchased the Sizzlits fruits dies I didnt realise how big they would be!!! These cherries look like they have been grown in organic super powered fertilizer!!!!!!! I inked them around the edges with SU ink pads and then I added some white gel pen for highlights.
The super sized cherries overpowered that side of the card so I had to add the 3 buttons to balance it out!!!!! Sentiment is from the Crazy for Cupcakes set and punched out with.......... yes you guessed it the Oval punches!

Now the "arty farty" angle is getting quite a fan club and I have noticed more and more people are going down this route!! Thats fab, arty farty rules!

Back tomorrow with another card for my birthday box!

Stamp with Us challenge

Another Sunday, another Stamp with Us challenge!
This week we are back to a sketch challenge.
Here is my effort! Gone all summery again as the weather has been nice again this week (except for a couple of horrendous thunderstorms). I plumped for Cheers to You set and used the sentiment all over the Pink Passion and the Only Orange card. I stamped the cocktail 3 times with the trusty Stamp a ma Jig and then coloured in with inkpads and blender pens.

The ribbon is from my stash and oooo guess what I have used those Oval punches again!!!!

I stamped the oranges again and added some foam pads for dimension.

I made a couple more cards yesterday so I will be back with them tomorrow!

Have a fab Sunday

Another weekend!

My sons have their School Summer Fair today so we will be popping along to that and then I have to deliver some SU goodies to one of my lovely ladies and then thats it!!!! My time is my own, well apart from looking after the boys!!!!
So I am hoping to get back into the cards today and do a couple of challenges!
I forgot to post this yesterday, its another card for the lady who orders about 30 cards a year from me. SHe likes the simple A5 size with the names done on the Cricut, this one is for her Daughter who shares the same birthday as me!! NEXT FRIDAY in case you hadnt noticed !!!! LOL
I have used my favourite Sweet Always papers with Regal Rose card blank and the lettering cut out in Pretty in Pink. I have made the cupcakes using the tutorial that you can find here. You cannot see very well but I gliuttered some glue dots to use on the top of the cupcakes as frosting!
I ahve had a couple of comments on my arty farty angles, so here is another for you arty farty fans!

A hectic life

I have no cards to show today, in fact I havent really felt like making cards much this week, never thought I would hear myself say that but I suppose it happens from time to time!!!! I havent lost my "mojo" (I have loads of ideas buzzzing round my head), I just seem to have 101 other things to do!!
I have been working flat out on my weddings this week, had 3 orders going out today and I have also been working on new designs and thought I would share a couple with you below.

I am really lucky that I get to work from home and craft all day, even though its very repetitive and sometimes I sit there looking at all my Stampin Up stamps that I never seem to have time to use!!!

And of course these 2 gorgeous fellas take up a lot of my time!

But I wouldnt have it any other way

I'll be back soon with some cards!

Stampin Up - Not just for crafting!

I've been meaning to show this on my blog for such a long time but kept forgetting and then when I did remember I didnt have the book at home to take the photo!
We all love Stampin' Up for helping us to make beautiful cards, boxes, gifts etc.... however it has also come in very handy when I have had to help my son's with their homework!!!!!!!!!!!

A few months ago Ross (age 10) had to do some work on the Solar System!!! Well good old Mum came up with the idea of using all the different circle punches to create the different size planets!!!!!!!!
We mounted some Basic Black card into his book and then researched the siza and colours of the planets and set to work! Don't you just love the So Saffron Saturn and the Tempting Turquoise Neptune!!!!

Ross was able to do most of this himself with a tiny help from Mum. It was fun to do this together and to make my craft stuff seem "cool" rather than just "urghh Craft stuff".

Well he got 2 House Points and he also won the Weekly Endeavour award too!!!!

Hope you like it and hope it has given you inspiration for any of your kids homework!!!

Friday Sketchers Emergency Card

Well after a busy week with wedding orders, a Stampin Up workshop and a Card class and then Fathers Day yesterday its my Husbands birthday today too!!!
I had made 2 Fathers Day cards, one for my Dad and one for Robin from the boys and a card for Robin for his birthday from the boys but at 3.30pm today I realised I hadnt made a card from me!!! Ooooppps! So at 4pm I made this one!! I followed the Friday sketchers challenge and used my Junior Varsity papers to lead the way with the colours!
I timed myself and I made it in 21 minutes!!!!!! Not bad really, the sketches really help and the fact the Stampin Up products are so much geared to help with the colour co-oridination!

Anyway he seemed to like it, you know what men are like with compliments!!!!!!! But I have to say he has his cards on the fireplace and the shop bought ones do look so pants compared to the hand made variety!!

So thanks Friday Sketchers for coming to my rescue!

Stamp With Us Recipe Challenge

Another Sunday, another Stamp with Us challenge!
This week was a hard week for me - Recipe Week!!!!!! I don't think I like being told what I can and cannot use on my cards!!!!! LOL!!!!!!
Anyway the challenge was to use 4 patterned papers and 2 card colours (now I have to say I dont count White before I get into trouble!)
The card is quite smaller than my usual, its 13cm square and I have done the "quilt" layout that I have seen done so effectively many time! The papers are Summer Picnic which I really love especially as they match the stamps I have used, Tart and Tangy!

My two colours of card are Real Red and Old Olive and the sentiment is from Crazy for Cupcakes

Going to watch my boy playing cricket this morning, they are playing their big local rivals so we will have to keep our fingers crossed!

Good times!

This afternoon I hosted my You've got Male class!! I was up baking this morning and todays offering was Coffee and Walnut cake!!! Never made it before, I have often sampled it but never had a go myself so here it is!!!!
I was very pleased and it was yumilicous!!!!!!!!!!!
Today we were working with Male cards, it seemed really strange to not have to pack any pink inkpads and floral stamps into my bags!!!! Here is a little prize that I put together which was won by Vicky!
And onto the cards, here is a selection of the cards made today, some of the cards were a little "camera shy" and didnt want to be photographed!!!!

Just wanted to show you Jenny's card! She is 8 years old and my youngest crafting addict!!! She did some lovely doodling and wrote Dad instead of stamping!!!

I ahd a fab time today and such a laugh, what with wonky ties and creased shirts (no names mentioned!!!!!)

Thanks girls and thanks for helping me to tidy up so quickly!
Back tomorrow with my SWU DT card

ILWS challenge card

Well I had a fab time at the workshop last night and I must say I havent laughed quite so much in a long while!!!! All the ladies made the gift box I showed you yesterday!!! (some more successfully than others - wink wink!!!!! no names mentioned!)
Thanks for having me ladies and enjoy your goodies when they arrive!
Ok onto the card, this card is for a challenge on a forum I frequent called In Love with Stamping, its a Inspiration challenge set by the lovely Kate and it was based on some bedding from John Lewis, would help if I attached the picture but I am in a real rush tonight!!!
I have used So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Close to Cocoa and the main stamped image is from the Level 3 hostess set Happiness Always. Papers are all Designer Papers from SU and have added the striped grosgrain ribbon.
Look at those lovely pearls from the Pretties Kit, I love them! The Thank You sentiment is from the Fresh Cuts stamp set

I bent the butterflies to give more dimension

Hopefully back with a card tomorrow

Workshop tonight

Tonight I am attending a scrapbooking/cardmaking club who are celebrating their 2nd birthday and they have asked me to come along to do a Stampin Up demo for them! I did one for them last October so am so pleased you have asked me back ladies! - Thank You
Tonight I will be demonstrating to them how to make this very versatile little box that I have made loads of times now and it never fails to look lovely and can work in so many colour combos. I got the design from my Upline Monica, thanks Mon.
I have gone for a pink/brown combo, I love how this works together. The colours are Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip.

Of course I have used the Oval punches, I seem to use them in most projects these days!!!

What I love most about this project is the stamped background pattern. It was achieved by using the Stampin Up Wheel and the It's Beautiful wheel, what a good title cos I think it really is beautiful! The wheels are so easy to use and I created this background in a matter of seconds.
I will report back tomorrow on tonights antics!!!!
DOnt forget my birthday blog candy, place an order of £15 or more to be entered into the Prize Draw!
Bye for now!

The papers are from the retired Brilliant Blue Designer Papers, fab for mens cards

Used my labels nestie and the Scalloped circle to keep the card closed. THe image is from Loads of Love, again a very versatile set as you get different accessories to stamp in the truck! I have gone for presents on this one!

Decorated inside aswell and I have added another nestie for you to write your message!

Night of Navy ribbon finishes it off!

Arty farty angle!!!!!
See you Thursday with a little project that I will be making at a workshop on Thursday night!

Another card for Saturday

Before I show todays card I wanted to say that yesterday was my Stampin Up birthday!!! It has been a year since I signed up to be a demonstrator. Well what a year its been. I cannot imagine life without Stampin Up, I know it sounds cheesy!! I have met the loveliest people and exceeded everything I thought I would achieve!!!

I want to mention a special mention to my Upline Monica and my fab dowline girls, Julie's Jems! You are all wonderful people and I am glad that I am
sharing this journey with you! Long may it continue!
And of course, my wonderful customers, thank you!
Anyway - enough of the slush!
Here is another card we will be making at class on Saturday. It is very similar to one I made a few weeks ago and I thought this can be adapted for many occasions, Father's Day, Male Birthday, Congrats in New Job (which is what I have made this for!)
The card base is Brocade Blue, its a lovely "denimy" blue and I have teamed it with Bashful Blue papers to create a monochrome look. The tie and shirt details have been cut out using a template from Craftwork Cards.

Spotty tie is created using the 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch circle punches

Sentiment is from the Starring You stamp set!

Hope you likey, still got 2 places left for Saturday

You've got Male calss - this Saturday

Well another week comes and goes and its Monday morning again!!! On Saturday I am doing my Male card class. Mail me at julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com if you would like to come, I have 2 places left! See my sidebar for more details.
Here is one of the projects we will be making, not sure what these type of cards are called but I call them Tri-fold cards, really easy to make using 1 piece of A4.
The papers used are Rainbow Sherbert and the colour combo is Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore and Gable Green. The Turquoise crd has been stamped with the Seeing Spots stamp set.

Of course I have used the Cheers to You set, very handy for mens cards and great value at £12.95 for 6 stamps. Finished off with the sentiment punched out with the Oval punches

Hope you like, back tomorrow with another card from Saturdays class
